Dear New Song Partners,
We want to share some exciting news with you! Since Tommy Gable founded New Song Mission Nicaragua more than 12 years ago, we have experienced more growth and maturation than we ever imagined. Jim Bob (Diego) Norman came to serve at New Song more than 8 years ago, being mentored by Tommy ever since, and has been given leadership and oversight for more and more aspects of the organization during that time. As a continuation of that process, we are excited to enter into a season of new leadership for New Song. Mission Founder Tommy Gable has resigned from the Presidency and has turned the mantle over to Jim Bob Norman. Tommy has also resigned from the Board to give Jim Bob and the Board the independence to move forward into this next chapter of leadership of the mission. Jim Bob has assumed the role of President with full support of the Board and will continue to be mentored by Tommy in a Paul/Barnabas relationship.
This past Sunday, August 21, we gathered more than 200 people together from the 5 church outreaches in the surrounding areas to formally announce this transition, share and explain the vision for New Song going forward, and officially instate Jim Bob as President of New Song in unity and prayer.
Tommy has started a brief sabbatical to prepare and seek the Lord for a new direction for his focus, expanding our primary mission to reach Nicaragua with the New Covenant in the Matagalpa region of the country, nearer to where he and Linda currently live. We will continue to serve as the mission agency for Tommy to receive tax-deductible contributions for his support.
