Kendry continues to excel in school and has advanced grades in all academic areas. He is finishing his year in second grade. In Language Arts, he continues to learn to read. He has now moved past reading simple sentences to reading short stories. Kendry is beginning to move beyond phonics and into the beginning stages of reading comprehension. In math he has learned to solve addition and subtraction of two-digit numbers. Kendry receives his uniform, shoes, backpack and school supplies through the sponsorship program. He was also able to cook a traditional Nicaraguan dish to present for his Cultural Studies class. As a focus on preventative health care, Kendry received his annual dental cleaning, fluoride treatment and dental hygiene teaching through the New Song clinic. We are proud of his continued success!
