Cadence is from Virginia Beach, Virginia. She attended Asbury University in Kentucky where she studied Elementary and Middle School Education. Her Asbury experience was a time of learning about living in a Christian community and being supported by the body of Christ.
After spending two months in the Dominican Republic and seeing the Lord moving in the nations, she signed up for The World Race. The World Race is an 11-month trip that takes its participants to 11 different countries where they spend one month working with various ministries in each country.
Cadence watched the Lord’s love transcend languages, cultural boundaries, and personal walls. Her fourth month on the Race brought her to Nicaragua, where her team partnered with New Song Mission. God had different plans for her team in Nicaragua. During her time at New Song, the community lost an incredible member of the youth. Sixteen-year-old Anthony Cadena drowned one afternoon while he and his friends went to the beach to hang out. Through this tragedy, the Lord uniquely led her team to stay in Nicaragua a second month, speaking life into the community and youth, some of whom experienced this tragedy first-hand.
Cadence has a heart for empowering others to step out of what is holding them back and start running towards their dreams, passions, and hopes for the future. Longing to see God’s kingdom collide with the community of Chichigalpa, Cadence wants to see them deepen their relationship with the Lord and realize the love He has for His children. Cadence works with the educational sponsorship program at New Song. Her heart for education and empowering kids and youth to run towards their dreams has allowed her to teach, disciple, encourage, and love these communities.
